Lakewood, NJ - In this annual organization meeting township committee members will be voting for a new mayor.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Rev. Michael O'Connor will deliver the invocation and Rabbi Shmuel Blech will deliver the benediction. After that Lakewood Township Committee members will vote for a new mayor for the year, selecting from the five-member panel. Committeeman Raymond Coles is expected to be appointed to the position, replacing Meir Lichtenstein.
Lichtenstein, who was re-elected to the committee in November, served as Lakewood's first Orthodox Jewish mayor during 2006.
