China – Mayor Bloomberg, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal while in Hong Kong and Shenzhen for the C40 climate summit, had some rather harsh words about members of Congress:

“Mr. Bloomberg attacked the notion that using Chinese-made technology to promote green energy in the U.S. was politically objectionable,” wrote the Journal.
“Let me get this straight: There’s a country on the other side of the world that is taking their taxpayers’ dollars, and trying to sell subsidized things so we can buy them cheaper, and have better products, and we’re going to criticize that?” he said.
Earliler, Bloomberg unleashed his anger at U.S. Congress.
“If you look at the U.S., you look at who we’re electing to Congress, to the Senate—they can’t read,” he said.
“I’ll bet you a bunch of these people don’t have passports. We’re about to start a trade war with China if we’re not careful here,” he warned, “only because nobody knows where China is. Nobody knows what China is.”
Long Island Republican Rep. Pete King, for one, said the brash remark was characteristically Bloomberg.
“Mayor Bloomberg is Mayor Bloomberg. I agree with him to some extent. Too many members of Congress in both parties don’t pay attention to foreign policy generally including trade issues,” said King, who has traveled to Taiwan and has a passport.
Nan Hayworth, a Republican who defeated incumbent Democratic Rep. John Hall in New York’s 19th Congressional District, said she’s not sure she fits “the stereotype to which [Bloomberg] seems to be referring.”
“I have a summa cum laude degree from Princeton, and I do read and I have a passport and I use it,” said Hayworth, who counted France, Japan and Singapore among her recent travels. She also studied in Germany.
“I’ve always had great respect for the mayor – I think that all of us have to be careful about attributing traits to others. it runs two ways, obviously,” said Hayworth, who also holds a medical degree from Cornell.
“Where the mayor may feel there’s a deficit in someone’s base of knowledge, that’s an opportunity to reach out to learn more about your counterparts and start a conversation — but doesn’t behoove any of us to make assumptions,” she said.
“I can imagine that he will find it within himself to get to know all of us. I’d be happy to sit down and talk with him. I’d be honored to do so.”
Bloomberg is right. There are some new repbulican rednecks elected from the South and west who are so dumb its amazing….they cannot even cite the Constitution correctly and several have acknowledged that they have never even been outside the U.S. But this is not limited to Republicans. The Democratic candidate for Senate from S.C. would clearly win any contest as the dumbest individual ever to have run for national office.
And he’s accusing Obama as being arrogant!
The fact is that red neck mentality , I am dumb and proud of it, is the new Republican mantra
funny that hes taking a subway while hes there.
if he was obama, he would have a 200,000 dollar car driving him around
I don’t know what one has with the other
Let’s assume part of the congressmans are ignorant does that say we should let china sell is subsidized items and kill so many jobs in the usa
Let him visit Democratic Taiwan 90 miles away, rather than Communist China.
Bloomberg is an arrogant person. After meeting and having a dialogue with him many years ago I came to the conclusion that you don’t need brains to be rich, but if you are wealthy than people look up to you and pay attention to what you have to say. Bloomberg is a M.D., a Mayven fin Dreck!
I’ll take ANY of the newly elected Conservatives over one BloomingIdiotBerg ANY day!
reb mayor ,divine judgement is very high these days ,you need to keep shabbos, there are 6 other days that business can be done on
