Police say it occurred at 7:30 p.m. as the man left a Yeshiva on Harrison Avenue in Brooklyn.

Police have classified the crime a bias incident. They say the victim was approached from behind, punched and knocked him to the ground before his cell phone was stolen.

Family spokesman Isaac Abraham identified the victim as 26-year-old Joel Weinberger.

He told WCBS Radio that Weinberger was dressed in Hasidic garb and was attacked for his religion.

Abraham said Weinberger’s “religious articles — his hat, his jacket, his fringes — were ripped apart.”

He said Weinberger was hospitalized with a broken leg and swollen eyes.

The individuals who perpetrated this vicious attack, are basically two legged, savage animals, from the jungle. As such, they must be treated as the vicious barbarians that they are. When the JDL was in existence, it would seek out such sociopathic predators, and deal with them. The street justice which was meted out by the JDL, sent fear into the hearts of future perps, and sent a strong message, that the Jews were not going to take this violence, without issuing retribution. In Saudi Arabia, they take a sword, and chop the hands off such thugs in public!

This is nothing new, this has been going on in NY for a hundred years already, Italians, Irish, Jews, blacks, that’s why we have Shomrim who do a great job.

Its a sad story I live in this neighborhood, there is a lot of crime going on there, but we don’t get real responds from the NYPD, Giuliani used to fight small crimes because from small crimes gets big crimes, but unfortunate our mayor its the opposite, when you file a police report its not sure that it goes in to the system in order to keep RECORDED crime low.

Giuliani know how to get the job done. He understood how crime progresses. All the pc is nonsense and that is why the jails are full. Nip it in the bud

When I see this young school boy leaving their yeshivah every night there is a prayer coming out of my mouth that Hashem should keep an eye on them.
This area is getting worse by the minute,,,

Guys, wake up, this is a sad consequence of the chassidishe expansion into Bedford-Stuy. It’s a rough neighborhood! Instead of investing millions into housing projects in between “the projects,” lets build instead upstate?? Let’s build more in KJ, more in Sullivan County, build more shtetlach, build in South Fallsburg and Kiamesha Lake, where there is open space and clean places for our kids to play. Lots of room there for housing and yeshivas and if we commit ourselves to upstate expansion, we can make jobs there.
