Livingston, NJ - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is notoriously unapologetic, but says he had to ask forgiveness for being introduced as a “rock star” to Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney.

Christie says he was surprised to meet the music great a fundraiser in New Brunswick for Chabad House, a Jewish community center. And when a Christie fan introduced the GOP governor to McCartney as a “rock star,” Christie says he felt obliged to set the record straight.

When the governor took the stage to give a speech, Christie says he made it clear that McCartney was the only rock star in the room.

Christie says McCartney was attending the fundraiser because the father of McCartney’s girlfriend, Nancy Shevell, is a Chabad House supporter.

Oh Governor Christie, you're not a rock star even when the great McCartney isn't in the house. What's with these politicians?
I wonder if there's a video out there of Sir Paul at the Chabad fundraiser...I've seen many with Jon Voight.

It was not a Chabad Event. It was Carlebach event that tries to present itself as Chabad. It's part Carlebach& part Messianists.

What makes it not a Chabad Event? If the Governor of NJ chose this Chabad House to be the first Jewish Organization to be honored by with over 500 people - good luck trying to discredit that!
If Rabbi Leib Groner attends and reads a greeting/letter that the Lubavitcher Rebbe sent years ago to THIS Chabad House- you cant get more CHABAD-authentic than that.
Mr. Malcom Hoenlein - would not have been the keynote speaker if this was something you are trying desperatly to portray it as....
There is a great saying " Dogs dont bark at parked cars", translates to Rabbi Carlebach must be doing something right if after such a successful event naysayers like you have such a lame remarks.

Rabbi Carlebach, regardless of the fact that I don't agree with everything he does, is doing a great job at Rutgers. The one who forced him out of official Chabad made a big mistake.

you are right hopefully this will be the beggining of the end of a grip of a few nepotist elites on the vision the rebbe had for the jewish people all qualified people should be allowed to be on shlichus not just some rabbis nephew or son in law to the detriment of other qualified people
