Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld says U.S. marshals escorted brothers Itzhak and Meir Abergil onto a plane to Los Angeles.

Israel arrested the men in 2008 after a U.S. court charged them with using a San Fernando Valley gang to distribute 1 million ecstasy pills and paying a gang member to kill a man for stealing a drug shipment.

Police say the Abergils head a powerful crime syndicate with interests in drugs and gambling.

One of their lawyers, Avigdor Feldman, told Israel radio he believes there is not enough evidence against his clients and they will be freed soon.

they don’t and i’m not sure if the are on an elal flight or a us airline. remember when they bought the “rabbi elior chen” back from Brazil? he was under the watchful eye of 2 israeli police officers throughout the whole flight and not only that when teh plane landed he was escorted by poilce off the plane straight to a waiting police van. I assume it’s the same thing here.

So we hand over Yidden to the US and we cannot redeem Pollard in return? Sounds like hypocritical policy….
