Sean Adams, 43, sitting on a grand jury for a narcotics case Wednesday, was right next to the witness stand when the cop took the chair to testify, sources said.

In a bizarre coincidence, the detective was one of several undercover cops who has been investigating Adams in a separate narcotics case.

Adams recognized him and realized the guy he’d been dealing with on the street was really a cop, the sources said.

“Ahh, f— this guy. I’m going to kill him,” Adams said, according to court documents.

The officer, realizing his cover was blown, motioned to the prosecutor to speak outside the courtroom.

After they chatted about the threat, other members of the NYPD’s narcotics unit arrested Adams, sources said.

He was arraigned Thursday on charges of tampering with a witness and intimidation of a witness, both felonies. He was held in lieu of $7,500 bail.

The details of the grand jury case were not disclosed. Adams later denied making the threat.

It was not immediately clear if the narcotics case against Adams was compromised because he blew the detective’s cover.

How the jury screener missed this one is disturbing. They should’ve tossed this guy in the early screening process and made up some reason. It’s pretty nuts to allow someone who is under investigation for dealing drugs to be a juror for a narcotics case. Only in NYC I guess.

This shows what type of people lawyers want on a jury. Don’t worry if you are frum and are called to jury duty, you will NEVER be chosen for a criminal case anyway.

Why didn’t the undercover officer recognize the “perp”?

Had Adams tried to be excused from jury duty, he probably would have been forced to serve!

It is interesting that all of you fail to realize that the jury was a “grand jury” not a trial jury. Were the rules differ.

Grand Jury everybody serves, unless your not an Amercan citizen or you don’t understand english or were convicted of a felony. You can postpone it, but you can’t get out of it, most of the time it is for 10 days. You listen to an assistant DA who says over the crime that they are accusing the defendant of, sometimes there are witnesses, or police officers who testify and than the grand jury decides if there is enough evidence to have the person stand trial. If the grand jury does not find enough evidence or they don’t believe the witnesses and find the defendant not guilty he is totally off the hook for this crime that he was accused of, and can never be accused of it again.
