Police said that members of the neighborhood watch were on patrol at 10 pm when they saw the teens writing the words “Sap” and “Ams” on the sidewalk near the corner of Avenue T and Stuart Street.

Shomrim members kept an eye on the teens as they called 911 and reported the vandalism. Cops from the 61st Precinct crept up on the vandals a short time later, catching them red-handed.

Investigators later learned that one of the tags was left on Congregation Kahl Bnei Torah of Marine Park, which is near the corner of Avenue S and E. 36th Street, in Nov., 2010 and added the synagogue vandalism to the taggers’ lists of charges, officials said

And the basis of the new charges was because the tag is the same. The levels of required proof has seriously resulted in a new low.
