Tuxedo, NY +NYS Thruway Major Traffic Alert+ All lanes of the the New York State Thruway from Exit 15A are closed due to a major accident at MM 42.3 with two fatalities involving a truck and tractor trailer who are on fire on the NYS Thruway at the Route 106 overpass.
Mutel aid, engine and tankers from Woodbury, Monroe and Harriman are all on the scene. Medical Examiner is inroute.

Tankers have cleared the scene, smoke condition remains, requesting now a full Haz-Mat team response and engineer on the scene as the overpass is compromised.
Northbound lanes remain closed.

All northbound lanes are closed and heavy rubeernecking traffic in the southbound lanes.

Northbound left and center lanes of the Thruway [I-87] have been reopened, the right lane remains closed for the inspection of the overpass.

Tuxedo — Two people were killed when two tractor trailers collided this morning in the northbound lane of the Thruway in Tuxedo around 2:30 a.m.
Some drivers reported that they had been stuck in traffic for seven hours.
One tractor trailer caught fire. Northbound lanes were closed as rescuers worked at the scene
