The citizen, a member of Cleveland Heights’ Jewish community who wished to remain anonymous, recognized Hirsch from a picture he had seen on VIN News.

Hirsch, wanted in connection with last Thursday’s 6:45 AM explosion outside the Santa Monica, California Chabad House was thought to possibly be in the New York area, but was spotted at the Cleveland Heights Agudah building. The alert VIN News reader who spotted Hirsch contacted the FBI who took Hirsch into custody.

The 60 year old Hirsch, a transient who also used the alias Israel Fisher, had been known to frequent synagogues and Jewish community centers seeking charity according to the Santa Monica Police Department. He was spotted sitting with an open sefer, wearing a yarmulke, and according to one unconfirmed report, spoke Yiddish as well. Hirsch was described by police and the FBI as “extremely dangerous.”

“VIN News is my favorite,” said the man who spotted Hirsch and called the FBI. “It’s the news on VIN that made me aware of this story, so from the photo of the story posted earlier today, I recognized Ron Hirsch and called the FBI immediately”.

Baruch Hashem he was caught. He thought he would be sly and go to Ohio. The bomb he set off landed in the bedroom of a little 11 year old girl. Chabad House on 17th had been very kind and generous to him. Baruch Hashem he was caught so quickly. Yaasher Koach to the leveled headed Yid who called FBI instead of the local police.

Interesting! The Agudath Israel crowd (Moetzes Gedolei Yisroel) have held anti-Internet asifas, have tried to ossur the Internet in general, and VIN in particular. And now the Agudath’s own people and property have been saved on account of the VIN Internet site!

Yet another reason to protect your yourself and your kids from the evil influences of the Internet!

“A fellow in our community spotted him in the schul on Taylor Road in Cleveland Heights,” said Rabbi Sruly Wolf. “The rabbi who spotted him called the Cleveland Heights police, who immediately responded and called the FBI.”

According to the person who spotted Hirsch, the suspect in the California synagogue attack came into the Ohio schul Sunday night and asked another rabbi for a place to stay.

However, Hirsch would not provide the rabbis with the kind of information they required before they would give him a bed in their community center.

“Basically, I took him to get him dinner,” said a rabbi involved in the apprehension, who asked not to be identified by name. “I kept on asking him questions. Things did not seem right. We decided to put him up in a local motel.

“Today, I happened to be on the Jewish website ‘Vos Iz Neias,'” the rabbi added. “I saw the facial features, although he shaved off part of his beard. First thing I did was call my local rabbi to see if I could report him. He said, ‘If he is a danger to society, you have to report him.’ I called the FBI in Santa Monica. They asked me to call the Cleveland Heights police. They came to synagogue, and he was sitting right in the back.”

#13 interesting that he called a Rov to see if he can be reported. More interesting if in the mean time he slipped out and was not found until ch”vsh etc.

This guy is undoubtedly Jewish himself. Having said that, his obvious mental health issues probably have nothing to do with Chabad and with Haredim in general.

And, rabbi, you don’t have to check with your colleagues first. Just call the cops, or in this case, the FBI.

Don’t feel sorry for this guy because he allegedly suffers from mental disease. He is a parasite, and a criminal predator.
Now, he will receive a lengthy jail sentence for the bombing.
