The battleground for this legislation is likely to be in the New York State Senate. We therefore urge you to take a minute right now and:

    1. Call your State Senator and leave the message that you are deeply opposed to legalizing same-gender marriage and will be watching to see how the Senator votes on this important issue. To be connected to your State Senator, or If you don’t know who your State Senator is, call the Senate operator at 518-455-2800.

    2. Please then pass this e-mail along to as many friends as you can who are likely to make similar calls.

Together, we can help defeat this pernicious legislation.

I fully agree that it is morally unacceptable , but why is it legally unacceptable? and why would it lead to serious negative consequences in the Jewish community? why is it our business what people do in their lives? Live and let live, it has nothing to do with us..

While I applaud the Agudath Israel for their stand on this issue, I cannot help but feel that they are partially to blame for these events taking place. We heard not one word, of condemnation or even disapproval at our representatives’ association with the Democratic party. A party which has at its charter the implementation of anti Torah values such as ‘Gender equality’ and a ‘Pro-choice’ stance. In fact it was Dov Hikind himself who opposed Mr. Palladino and staged a rally against him. Mr. Palladino’s view’s ( more consistent with Torah values) was maligned and ridiculed because of his pro-family values stance.

All religious publications i.e. The Jewish Press, Hamodia etc all endorsed Michael Bloomberg who has always been an advocate of ‘gender equality’ (gay marriage). for his third term!. All publications endorsed Dov Hikind who is a proud member of the Democratic party. All Jewish publications similarly endorsed Andrew Cuomo, who stated that passage of Marriage equality was a goal of his administration. Jewish media (VIN) also celebrate Cuomo’s meeting with different religious organizations and Hasidic groups…all for what …a few extra wellfare dollars !!??!

I think rabbis and elders of community should be more vocal against gay marriage. What one does in privacy of their own home or life is one thing. But to legalize gay marriage that’s just unconscionable.

I completely agree. We must work hard at this. But, we must do it with TRUTH and TORAH, not the lies of the goyishe fanatics like Paladino.

We are against gay marriage for ONE reason and ONE reason only. Because H” said we need to be. Period.

The problem is that most of the people in this country who are against gay marriage are against it because of hatred, bias and bigotry.

It is very important that we distinguish ourselves. People like Mr. Levin and Mr. Paladino represent nothing but hate, not Torah. The rest of us, being mostly sane, G-d fearing Yidden, must stand and represent Torah. We do not HATE homosexuals. We do not want them to be unhappy. We do not believe that they are evil people. We love them. We want to help them.

One of the biggest problems we have had is that we are lumped in with the Westboro Baptist Church, entertainers on radio & TV, and failed politicos like Carl Paladino as if we are the same bigoted trash. We’re not. We have truth, and the will of H” to guide us here. We can do it from a position of ahavas H” and ahavas Torah. Anything else is just bigotry. We can’t be that.

This is scary: retribution in civilized history has come usually when society starts tolerating gay behavior. Teshuva.

If consenting adults have the right to call any relationship a marriage, can anyone explain to me why I can’t marry my mother?

If gays are afforded the same benefits as married people, we as taxpayers will subsidize their union. Inheritance taxes are one example whereby they will reduce tax revenues by no small measure.

All you readers out there, raise your right hand and repeat after me: There is no such thing as a gay marriage ! If Adam marries Steve, how would they consummate the marriage ? What if Adam decides to cheat on Steve and get friendly with Bill. Would Adam be committing adultery ? Let’ say that unbeknownst to Steve, Adam marries other man. Would he be guilty of polygamy ? What if Adam and Steve decide to break up for good. Would they have to get a divorce? And what if either of them refuse to perform their, ahem, obligations…can the other one sue for divorce?
