Its time for the Skvere rebbe to publicly speak out and denounce this terrorism committed in his name. Otherwise, there will be more attacks. He simply cannot remain silent. He also needs to urge his followers to speak openly with the police investigating this horrible crime and not worry about “messirah” or any such nareshkeit in such a violent crime case.

This story should shake everyone to the core. This is at least the second time that New Square is involved in a massive chilul Hashem. I am so embarrassed! Somebody attempted to murder a family in his community! Why hasn’t this community spoken up? Why haven’t they instituted a day of fast and teshuva for what took place in their community. And we wonder why we have so many disenfranchised youth! Today, we have no rabbis or rebbes who are willing to step up and do the right thing and be righteous leaders. Unfortunately, this will be just the tip of the iceberg with our youth.

The extend of this Chilul Hashem is beyond anything we have seen in the recent years. it tears my heart.

When will the rabbis actually act like rabbis and speak up and out against these people and crimes? When will they actually take responsibility for their people? Who is running this joke of a religion?

    what a shame …..!!!!!!!!
again its shows up that in todays world nothing could be hiding

the fact is the bochur was really thinking that he is doing a good thing.
and the rabbi is responsibble for that

Inept and corrupt leadership has been going on for years with priorities places on politics over spiritual leadership. Good people of New Square–flee! For your sake and the sake of your children. There are many, many lessons to be learned from this and these will slowly emerge. May G-d help us.

Skver is like a “Mafia”-the attorney general should step in and investigate- if they are running the whole town-what do you think they will investigate?

Its unfortunate that only through terrible tragedies such as this can the square community get a glimpse of the fact that they are not practicing Judaism. If the rebbe and his kronies keep silent about this, it may truly end up the beginning of the end for new square.

I’m not a hasid, but I was a New Square supporter I even spent a weekend in New Square and participated in the Rabbis Tishen. I most say it’s a lovely community and the rabbi is considered by many a very smart person.

When I first read about this incident I made a few phone calls to people I know in New Square. Most of them told me the same thing, Mr. Rottenberg is a troubled individual, troubled family etc. When I asked why he deserved being burnt they did not know what to say.

One person told me that the rabbi told his sons that Se’tit Ehm Vai (he’s pained) that these outcasts pray outside of the village

This is almost impossible for most Yidden to understand, to try to even begin to explain this to the Gentile world is impossible. How any community of Jews can get down to this level of overt violence is outright disgusting. Are we our own worst enemies?

    continued –

This young boy took the rabbis pain too far.

A quick youtube search found clips of young boys protesting outside someones house with (seemingly) support of one of the rabbis sons.

I must say, I’m very disappointed by the reaction of the New Square community, or rather the inaction of its leadership. This is not the New Square I came to love and respect.

watch the youtube clips you’ll see how the rabbis oldest son past by in his car when he got there he really slowed down at the protest all of a sudden when they realized who came the started protesting again and louder so don’t you think his father sent him to check it out?and all the terror is in the name of the rabbi.its like the terrorist when they do something bad they do it in the name of………

Yea! Now the whole world (tens of millions read every link on Drudge daily) knows about our lowest lowlives! This is featured on neo Nazi and Muslim websites. It is on liberal Jewish and leftist sites as well. They do not even realize that these chasidim have politics that are neither right nor left. they are designed to get them more power and more money, i am sad to say.
this story breaks my heart and my own reaction to it shames me.

Every time a small close knit community grows and expands, there are bound to be those who have differences of opinion. When New Square was brand new in the 50’s these kinds of things didn’t happen. However even if the “leadership” in New Square would like everyone to daven in the same shul and follow all the takonos, people will still have their own opinion and feelings about how things are run and terrosrism isn’t the answer to cohesiveness. It’s time for New Square to realize that. You can’t force people to do what you want all the time. I can understand if someone doesn’t follow Yiddishe guidelines as to tsnius, or having TV or internet if N.Sq. doesn’t allow it as a reason to recommend that he move elsewhere, but, if someone is otherwise frum, why can’t he daven somewhere else without being terrorized?

I seem to recall Lipa Schmeltzer getting kicked out of Skver for making music that they didn’t like. I’m glad Lipa left, or our greatest Jewish performer would have been burnt at the stake.
