He and his wife Yehudit raised two surviving children of Yaron and Effie Ungar, who were orphaned when their parents were gunned down by Arab terrorists in 1996. Effie was the daughter of the Dasbergs.
Rabbi Yisrael Rozen of the Tzomet Institute based in Alon Shvut said that he and Rabbi Dasberg”walked hand in hand for 35 years and since the founding of Tzomet.
“He was a man of great kindness and as an editor of the Talmudic Encyclopedia, was perhaps one of the best editors or our generation.”
Rabbi Dasberg was so modest that he eschewed the title of “rabbi” despite his having been ordained as such at the Mercaz HaRav and Kerem b’Yavneh yeshivas, Rabbi Rozen added.
BDE. This is a real tragedy for all concerned. My sincere sympathy goes to those poor, unfortunate orphans.
How old are these children nebech?
Do they know if this was a terrorist act? There has been an increase of arab truck drivers purposely ramming into our cars of late.
