New York – WABC host Aaron Klein calls UK boycott ‘an act of aggression against all of us’

The news media, including conservative radio commentators, should be “ashamed” of themselves for largely failing to report on the United Kingdom’s banning of radio star Michael Savage, charged WABC radio host Aaron Klein today.

“The ban is an appalling assault on press freedom and yet those who claim to champion the First Amendment, from the liberal media to many right-wing hosts, haven’t had much to say about the issue,” Klein told VIN News.

Savage is scheduled to appear on Klein’s WABC show today to discuss the UK’s reaffirming the ban this past week. Klein’s show airs from 2-4 PM Eastern. (link: www.wabcradio.com/listen).

Stated Klein: “This isn’t about Savage. When the UK puts an American radio host on a list with murderers and terrorists just for expressing his legitimate political views, including views against Islamic terrorism, it’s an act of aggression against all of us, whether you’re on the left or the right.”

The WABC host pointed to the famous statement attributed to Pastor Martin Niemöller about the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power. The text of the quotation is usually presented as follows:

“First they came for the communists,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist.

“Then they came for the trade unionists,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist.

“Then they came for the Jews,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.

    “Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.”

Added Klein: “Well, they’re coming for Michael Savage and I’m speaking out!”
“Where’s the ACLU, where’s the Obama administration?” asked Klein. “Why aren’t they fighting this?”

Last week, an attorney for the British government reaffirmed the country’s decision to ban Savage from entry.

In May 2009, then–British Home Secretary Jacqui Smith announced that Savage was on a list of 16 people banned from entry because the government believed their views might provoke violence.

Smith said it was “important that people understand the sorts of values and sorts of standards that we have here, the fact that it’s a privilege to come and the sort of things that mean you won’t be welcome in this country.”

In the latest communiqué from the British government, Michael Atkins, writing on behalf of the U.K.’s treasury solicitor, told Savage’s London-based attorney, “Your client has not provided any evidence to show that he did not commit the unacceptable behaviour” that prompted the “decision to exclude him, nor has your client provided any acceptable evidence to show his repudiation of those unacceptable behaviours.”

Atkins said Savage can do nothing at the moment to affect his status and must wait until December, when the decision is scheduled for review.
Responding to the lastest development, Savage pointed to Cameron and President Obama, during his current trip to the U.K., comparing themselves with President Reagan and Prime Minister Thatcher, “blathering about ‘democracy’ in the Arab world.”

“How about democracy in the U.K.?” asked Savage, referring to his case. “The freedom to a trial? The freedom of appeal? The freedom to set the record straight?

“Why does the Cameron government protect Muslim terrorists and Muslim hate-preachers who espouse the overthrow of the British government, democracy itself, while banning Michael Savage from entering the land of their better forefathers?” he asked.

Savage has received support from Reps. Allen West, R-Fla., and John Culberson, R-Texas, who sent letters to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, urging her to review Britain’s ban.

I agree…I personally think the guy is a fantatic and don’t agree with anyone using religion as motivating factors for their beliefs which they project onto secular society-but, no matter what, there is a first amendment which needs to be followed. Although, I am not sure why we demand other countries to follow order…this is confusing or maybe a bit arrogant to demand others to follow
    “our way”

I don’t think anyone realizes how disturbing this really is.

They are scared to death of the Moslems radicals in the UK. They are afraid to do anything to provoke the nut jobs out there.

Klein doesn’t know what he is talking about. The UK does NOT have a First Amendment, and even in the US, the government can exclude any alien for any reason. There is no trial and no appeal.

And Savage’s OTA midot are NOT something we should model.

Savage should know that he can not count on the support from Limbough whom he calls “Hush Bimbo” the last 6 years, Hannity he calls the Wallbanger, O’reily is the Leprechaun. Now he wants them to come to his defense…. ?!?!
    Sorry!!

It happens to be that at the time conservative talkradio hosts like Hannity, Rush, Glenn Beck, and even Mark Levin all made a big deal about this.

Is Savage still on the radio? His show was dropped in the Washington D.C. are and several other markets and I’m not even sure he is on the air. In any event, the Brits were smart to keep him out since what the little I’ve heard from him is in the Glen Beck style of racist and anti-muslim rants whithout any discrimination between radicials and the millions of normal peace loving muslims who live among us and who go to school with my kids…..the brits have the right idea.

best show on the radio. If we had five shows like him speaking the truth this would be a much better country. Anyone who claims otherwise does not listen to him!

Savage was NOT on with Aaron Klein. Maybe Savage didn’t want to appear on a radio station (‘ABC) that banned him as well…

Savage is a passionate Jew and probably more spiritual than most of the heimeshe crowd. If you listen to his occasional digressions into T’nach you can’t but admire his soul.

The majority of Britons have no idea who this Michael Savage is. Nor did I until a few days ago.

However, one thing is for sure: 98% of the residents of Great Britain fervently wish that all of you Americans would kindly mind your own business and keep your big noses out of our domestic affairs.

Many of you may not realize this, but Britain is *not* a constituent part of the United States. Yes, we know you came to our aid in two world wars, but the first ended 92 years ago and the second has been over for 66 years. However, since that time, however, British troops have dug you out of the messes you and your presidents created in Korea, Iraq and in Afghanistan. So we think that any debts or obligations to you have been more than paid off with the blood of our soldiers, sailors and airmen,

Do not quote “the First Amendment” at us; your constitution – excellent as it may be – applies only in your country. We have our own parliament and our own laws.

In short you can keep your apparently holy saint and gadol b’doro, Michael Savage. We have absolutely no need of him, thank you. You are more than welcome to keep him all to yourselves. He is not wanted over here.

    Understood?

The venom expressed by “DrMSPhD” and by “Yoeli” against the opinions expressed by “Golders Green Gershon” was truly disgusting. Just because someone who does not live in the all-important United States of America has had the temerity to express opinions that did not coincide with those of other correspondents was no need to savage him and to insult him.

I live in Chevron, where the right of free expression is not available to ALL of the local residents. I really did express to see more toleration of the universal concept of free speech than was demonstrated by “DrMSPhD” and “Yoeli”. What they wrote was a clear breach of that privilege.

The sun will shortly rise on another searingly hot day here in Yehuda and Shomron. I pray that it will bring better things than the appalling performance I have seen here.

To #32 -Gershon- Reference is made to your condescending letter. I’m curious to know “what mess did you dig us out of in Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan? The UK does not have any troops stationed in South Korea. Secondly, the participation of the UK in the Pacific War against Japan, was minimal to say the least. Third, in 1982, the UK went to war against Argentina, to claim sovereignty to a few islands (The Falklands), which were largely uninhabited. A submarine of The British Navy sunk an Argentinian ship, the “Belgrano”, with the loss of over 300 lives. It was the first time since World War Two, that a submarine was used to sink another ship. Also, to this day, the British Government never paid us compensation for attacking Washington, D.C., and burning the White House down, during the War of 1812.

Go to You Tube. Type in: OBAMA’S SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER TIED TO AN ALIAS HARRISON J. BOUNEL 05/18/11. The Mortgage fraud, tax fraud, & identity theft connected to Obama & Michelle is beyond mind boggling! Yet the MSM lets him get away with it!! The Michael Savage issue along with everything else are all symptoms, complications of the major pathology which is Obama/Soetero himself! The concern should not be why no one is defending Savage, rather why no one is challenging the beast occupying the white house! Obama is a criminal felon! If the MSM is not going to challenge him, remain silent, indeed protect him, what makes anyone think the MSM will go against him to defend the rights of his “enemy” Savage? Obama releases TWO different forged birth certificates, both claimed to be the “original one-and-only”, & gets away with it! He is using a stolen SS# & getting away with it! His TSA agents are sexually assaulting American citizens from the infant to the elderly, yet ignoring muslim-garbed flyers, & getting away with it!! Why? because white America is intimidated by his skin & black America is intoxicated by his skin. Until America “detox’s”, there is no hope for America, or Savage!

So far, none of you have offered any concrete, valid or logical reasons why Britain should admit Michael Savage to its territory or to offer any explanations of what benefits the Brits would derive from Savage’s presence there.

Any reasons for that? More to the point, any answers?

When he was on and I was listening, I paid attention to the Savage Nation. I can not speak about the exact reason that Mike was banned from the UK but I can not see it being anywhere NEAR as bad as some of the influx of immigrants entering England and America NOW!

Isn’t this part of the reason we(Americans) left that little island. Decisions are made to benefit those in charge-not for the benefits of the masses. Religion still the root of evil. Just another way of segregating people(humans). You are different so- You can’t be my equal….blah blah blah.
