New York - More than 56,000 Hudson Valley residents are without power, the Thruway is reporting blocked lanes and roads across the region are flooded amid heavy rains and winds from Hurricane Irene.
Central Hudson reports about 36,000 customers without power Saturday morning, most of them in Ulster County. Orange and Rockland reports more than 20,000 outages in Rockland, Orange and Sullivan counties.
The New York State Thruway says northbound lanes between Sloatsburg and Harriman are blocked due to flooding. The Thruway has been dealing with scattered incidents of flooding and fallen tree limbs. A number of other roads in the largely suburban and rural valley are washed out.

Im residing @ upstate ny, so far there is just heavy rains, no blackouts tx god, n streets r full of mud hope its gonna slow down shortly, n it wnt b that much damage!
