Paris, France - The Palestinian people are “long overdue” in their quest for an independent state, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said on Friday, ahead of a Palestinian push for statehood in the UN planned for later this month.

Ban’s comments came a day after Palestinian activists launched a campaign for the recognition of a Palestinian state in the United Nations. The move contradicts earlier reports that the Palestinian Authority was the one who issued the request.

The UN is long over due to have its US taxpayer funded handout cut off. Why won't the Obama administration nip this in the bud and declare that if this issue is voted on in the General Assembly, the US will cut off any and all funding to both the UN and the PA? The answer is that Obama agrees with Ban ki Moon that the poor and oppressed Palestinians deserve a homeland.
Weprin supports Obama therefore Weprin supports Obama's Middle East policies. Please vote for Bob Turner on Tuesday.

You have to excuse today's edition of French stupidity. Apparently, the company that manufacturers their endless supply of white flags has burnt down.

He means their 2nd state is long overdue, the 1st one, even though called Jordan, its population is in fact close to 80% Palestinian. Let's just be honest, Ban-ki, Mon-ki.

The only entity holding up the declaration of a Palestinian state are the Palestinians themselves. They have violated (usually with violence) every agreement they have signed, rendering them worthless. With every Israeli concession they have rachted up their demands and upped the ante. The Palestinians will have a state when they reject the lawless thugs of Hamas and the PA, stop indoctrinating their children with antisemitic hatred (funded incidently, by our friends at the UN, UNRWA) and approach the negotiating table with reasonable intent.

"Let's just be honest, Ban-ki, Mon-ki."

Juvenile jokes about a person's name are really beyond the pale. If someone was to make jokes about one of our names we would scream blue bloody murder.

Ban Ki Moon's name may be strange to your ears, but if you MUST mock it at least take the trouble to get its constituent parts right. "Ban" is the man's surname, and "Ki-Moon" is his (how shall I put this?) first name.

So class, let's just have a little respect for the man - whether or not you like him.

OK, class dismissed. Shabbat shalom!

If my take on history is correct, The State of Israel was organized and declared, and then recognized by UN vote, etc. If the palestinians want their own country, let them organize and dclare their state. Bobody's stoppin' them.
