Jerusalem – Charedi Rabbis Denounce Jew-on-Jew Internal Violence

    35

Jerusalem – The rabbis of the Haredi Badatz – the High Court of Justice of the Eida Haredit community – published an unusual and strongly worded denouncement of the internecine violence that has been plaguing the community in recent months.

The violence has been ascribed to Gur (Gerrer) hassidim, some of whom said it was a response to severe provocations by members of a violent group called the sikrikim. The conflict is connected to a turf war over the “Batei Warsaw” neighborhood.

In official posters (“pashkvils”) pasted on the bulletin boards and walls of the Me’ah She’arim neighborhood, the Badatz referred to an incident in which a man named Avraham Hirschman was severely beaten, and to another attack, in which a man named Shalom Roset was beaten inside a synagogue.

“We heard with fear of several incidents of beatings – to the point of pulverization — and damage to Jewish property and capital,” the rabbis wrote. The violent incidents “have reached the point of desecrating synagogues. Woe to the ears that hear this, that such a thing can be done in Israel and no voice be raised in protest.”

“Anyone complicit in their acts will not be cleansed of this in the next [world],” they summed up, in a pashkvil signed by the Badatz Head, Rav Yitzchak Tuvia Weiss.

it is interesting this is a ongoing problem that is going on for over 2 years as someone that has spent a lot of time in yerushlim and know the whole story it is very interesting to see that after years of fighting stoning, throwing people out of apartments and spraying women and children with pepper spray no body had any comment to make on the whole affair. but finally after 2 years of suffering the people of the naiborhood got fed up and when things reached a point were people had to move becouse of all the violance and some decided that unless something very serious was done this group of terrorists are not stopping at anything to the point of stopping busses from coming down their route(which affected dozens of elderly people)so they went and gave one of the terrorists a little feeling of what he was doing to others to put some kind of an end to the terror that is when the kol korie’s start coming out !
    fascinating!!!
wow finally some machah to the terror!
    thank god for ger!!!

So the Badatz is objecting to violence of the sikrikim, but not the violence perpetrated by the sikrikim?

They condemn Charedi-on-Charedi violence because they might get hurt.
They still support the routine brutal assault with deadly weapons their followers commit against girls who wear the wrong clothes, storekeepers who don’t pay off the Kosher Nostra, people who drive on the wrong day, people who pray the wrong way, ambulance drivers and the police.

The only thing wrong with assault and abuse is they might be the victims once in a while rather than privileged criminals.

    Great!!!
    Finnaly SOME official response…

P.S. a note that has a signature in the bottom should not be reffered to as “Pashkevil”.

The Gerrer have always been the most peaceful and laid back of all the chassidus so I find the whole issue a bit confusing. They have been victimized by a small segment of the Yerushalmis so this call for a “cease fire” will hopefully have some positive outcome.

Why are the Israeli Police afraid to take action against these extremist terrorists? If they were Arabs, they would be on their case in an instant. What seems to give here? It is because of political connections on the part of the offenders, that the cops are afraid to act?

” The rabbis of the Haredi Badatz – the High Court of Justice of the Eida Haredit community”
The Bedatz isn’t a “high” court. In halacha there’s no such thing as high court or low court. Every bes din has equal power and no bes dincan over turn the psak of another.
The zionist rabinat is the first and only bes din that has a high and a low bes din, which of course is against halacha.

most of you are misinformed ! this is not ger versus sikrekim ! nothing at all !!! it is about the real estate of botai warsha that belongs to “kollel poilend” “rab mair bal ha’nes” that ger some how took controle of in the past few years and are now putting claim on botai warsha with plans of developing a big shopping center smack in the middle of a residential area ! p.s. for the records abraham hirshman is a stolina chasid not a violent man at all he just moved in with his elderly father and so secured the apartment for himself legaly rather then its return to kollel polend (for it is a “shliselgelt” lease)

How about encouraging people to get educated so they can get decent jobs and self esteem. It would then be beneath them to engage in such idiotic behavior. A generation of lazy ignoramuses know has spawned and the unfortunate results are manifesting.

I don’t know why with all the seem to know it alls here can’t I get this tory straight? Was victim a sikrik or not? Was violence perpetuated or intended against Sikrik. How tied in are Sikrikim with badastaz and the ordinary yerushalmis? Did ger make any official response? VIn is an immature news agency that consistently puts out half stories. If you find it fit to print than please provide background here so we can get an intelligent viewpoint here!!!

“Anyone complicit in their acts will not be cleansed of this in the next [world],” This is an incorrect translation. The correct translation is”… will not be cleansed in this WORLD and in the next world.
