Speaking at the Saban Forum in Washington, Clinton specifically mentioned bills limiting funding for NGOs, and the exclusion of women in the public sphere, as exemplified by gender separation on buses serving the haredi community and controversy over women singing in public.

The eighth annual Saban Forum, which began Friday and is continuing through Sunday, also featured speeches from US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and opposition leader Tzipi Livni. The theme of this year’s Saban Forum is “Strategic Challenges in the New Middle East.”

    According to Ynet she said:
Referring to the decision of some IDF soldiers to leave an event where female soldiers were singing, she said it reminded her of the situation in Iran.

“Orthodox Jewish customs” were not a concern for Hillary when she was stumping for votes in New York.

Quite telling that she has no such concerns about the repression of women in saudi arabia and the like.

Very obvious stand. One wouldn’t expect anything else from her, how else could she and her husband breach their contracts of marriage so frequently. Of course it’s only a real domestic democracy that can support that kind of floundering. Let’s not forget that conservative religions think that “is” has only one definition.

Let the meiskeit worry about her Husband. Let the machshefa talk to the Saudis and other Arab countries and not distrespect Orthodox customs.. Let her travel to Saudi Arabia and tell the imams tgere her veiws on womens rights or the Muslim brotherhood. Netanyahu is a gurnish if he does not respond to this oysvurf with chutzpah OF MEDDLING ONLY IN iSRAEL’S INTERNAL AFFAIRS.. No wonder bill looked elsewhere. What women would stay married to a husband who embarrassed her in front of the whole world. Where is the Agudah , young Israel, ???shaME ON THEM FOR NOT RESPONDING !!! wHY WORRY ABOUT CANDIDATE cAIN WHEN cLINTON WAS THE pRESIDENT??? wHERE IS fm lIEBERMEN TO WIPE HER UGLY FACE ONCE AND FOR aLLL./

Right Ms. Clinton was so enlightened with Womens rights that her husband, the great President felt a need to look elsewhere. Had she insisted on on her husband living a more modest life she would not be the laughing stock of the world as she was at the time nor would she have stayed married if her ambitions were not greater than her family’s warped values….
where are the Jewish women leaders demanding an apology like the Arab women demanded from Condalisa rice when she too suggested Saudi women
fight for more political rights and her Asst Sec of State was booed. Where are our so called Ayshe Chayil women to shut up this gurnish meddling in Israel internal affairs?

Look who is talking. The Moral Presidential family is the new authority on other’s morality and religious customs. Her husband’s free liberal democratic value’s really did make him free to do as he wanted because of his enlightened democratic wife’s veiws that everything goes. In fact, Madam Secretary get your facts straight. The issue of singing was specifically a democratic issue of a soldiers democratic right not to attend an event where women sing ? Not to suppress anyone else!! So before u plapel like an fool on this issue GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT AND GO MAKE A MIXED CONCERT IN IRAN< PAKISTAN OR THE NEW MAJORITY IN EGYPT.. U attend
and see what reception u get. Here the soldiers are just asking to be exempt from these concerts. U babbled a complete LIE. And the buses are all private like the Muslims and Jews have in US also. Where did u get your facts.? I hope your political work is not as incompetent as the misinformation facts you espouse here. Shame on you and your whole moral compass.

finally someone with some power stating what it happening in Israel

    to #1
you are not following torah laws. if the people from the Torah followed your rules moshe would never have met his wife and avrohom would never have seen his wife in the water since she would have been in back of the caravan

Why can’t we just say that she doesn’t understand the centrality of Torah and leave it at that. Her husband’s philandering is irrelevant and she has spoken out about treatment of women in Saudi Arabia. Most of the remarks here are juvenile.

She is not Jewish and doesn’t understand our ways. Nothing more. From her perspective, Orthodox sensibilities are undemocratic which we acknowledge they are.

First of all my dear fellow commenters, the word is “allowed” not “aloud”. Secondly, if you read Tanach, you will see that women were very much in the public sphere. Even a generation ago, during the times of our real gedolim like R. Moshe Feinstein, women were found in the public sphere and all this shrill Taliban lunacy was not to be found except in a few weirdo corners of the Jewish world. Now that we have a generation that was raised to live on welfare and to be uneducated, with lots of time on their hands, (since most are total Am Haaretzim) we have fanaticism rising in our ranks, and we are starting to resemble the ignorant Muslims. Let’s hope we can reverse this trend before the frum world gets too backwards and out of touch with reality.

The Orthodox community should take serious note of this outburst. Until now she has been a welcome visitor to Orthodox neighbourhoods, even being ‘menachem ovel’ certain rabbinic figures. Now everyone can see that she has absolutely no respect for the orthodox lifestyle and is prepared to go onr record to say so. Keep copies of her outburst and publicize them in the future when someone canvasses for her support, Any public figure, no matter who, who supports this woman from now on should be suspect of selling out the community for his personal agenda.

With all the wrong done to human rights by many Muslim countries, it is Israel that is the target of Mrs. Clinton’s rants….what is wrong with this picture? I guess she is the spokeswoman for Mr. Obama’s distorted views of a new world order…and selective choices of who and what to pick on.

Even many erliche Yidden agree that the situation is getting out of control with these chumras.

Clintons have been the biggest enemies to Israel regardless of what they say.

If not for the Clintons its very likely that PLO would still have been a recognized terrorist organization somewhere outside of Israel. Palestinians would have nothing more then rocks to throw and Israel would have controlled all of Gaza and West Bank. Its the Clintons that created this mess.

Clintons’s have done more harm than Carter and even Obama.

If find Hillary Clintons’ reverence and respect for the Arab world, including her kiss-kiss with Mrs. Arafat quite hypocritical as she fails to show the same respect for Jewish culture.

Clinton is a plain old hypocrite and would sell her soul for anything. For shame.

There is no contradiction or hypocrisy in Hillary taking a stance against the extremist charedim in Israel and their attempt to force their views on the general population, the military, the courts and govt and wish to create a Halacha state (note that there is no uniformity in halacha today, so this is impossible even to those who would want it.) The chasidim and charedim in America are free to practice their religion (whether or not its judaism) and such does not have any threat in out democracy. In Israel Democracy and freedom is being threatened by these extremists.
