The calls went on for nearly two years. Many were in the middle of the night. The claims included fake fires and gunshots.
In recent months, emergency responders had sometimes gone to the Manhattan home twice a day.
Victim Mamadou Sy tells the Daily News (http://nydn.us/syHCSZ) that it shouldn’t happen to anyone.
Fire marshals charged 30-year old Jesus Leon Jr. with numerous counts of falsely reporting an incident and reckless endangerment.
His mother says he has medical issues and was frustrated by a leak he blamed on the neighbors.
Although they’re glad the ordeal is over, the victims say they still might move.
Terrible! What a waste of taxpayer’s money, a waste of the cops’ time & a waste of energy for all of the people who he reported on, for no good reason!
And when I saw the name of one of the victim’s, I had to ask myself, “Was this perhaps racially motivated?” I mean, maybe the perp thought the person was Muslim, instead of Indian? I cannot fathom why somebody would call the police EVERY DAY for almost a year, making up stories like this, unless there was some kind of motivation behind it.
Either that, or the dude is just crazy! (lol)
I would have thought he’d have been arrested a long time ago, because isn’t it against the law to make fake 911 calls?
