Ramallah, West Bank – Hamas officials say the speaker of the Palestinian parliament has been arrested by Israeli soldiers.

A Hamas official said Abdel Aziz Duaik was arrested Thursday near Ramallah. He was speaking on condition of anonymity citing security reasons.
The Israeli military had no comment.
The Palestinian parliament has not functioned since Hamas seized control of Gaza in 2007 from the rival Palestinian Fatah Party.
Since then the Western backed Fatah governs the West Bank while Hamas rules Gaza.
Israel, the U.S., EU and others list Hamas as a terror group due to its suicide bombings and other attacks aimed at Israeli civilians that killed hundreds.
Duaik was arrested along with other Hamas officials in 2006 after militants abducted an Israeli soldier. He was released in 2009.
When, exactly, was he arrested? Yesterday? Last week? Last month? Last year?
I think I saw him driving a horse and buggy in Lancaster PA last summer.
If they can arrest the Gaavd’s gabbai, what’s the big deal to arrest the palistinian speaker?

And I think they should release him again. Here are the terms:
1 – They must return all the terrorists that were released in the Shalit swap.
2 – After Hmas complies, they get this one back, in a body bag.
It is high time that Israel show the world, and all the terrorist organization it tolerates that the result of committing terror is death, without trial, media circus, etc. It would be even nicer if the White House encourages a zero tolerance of terror, and the UN follows suit. I bet these last three swings would hit home rune, but are, unfortunately “Casey has struck out”.
This article doesn’t even bother to say WHY he was arrested, or what the circumstances were! I re-read it several times, just to make sure I wasn’t missing something… but there’s really not enough information there!
I’m not blaming VIN mind you, because I realize they weren’t the ones who wrote it! But perhaps maybe they could have found a better article to use, in order to explain what happened here!
