One of a series of five convoys carrying Patriot missile-defence system rockets makes its way on a freeway in Sanitz, north Germany, heading to Travemuende harbour to be transported to Turkey, 06 January 2012, as part of a NATO deployment. The unit, consisting of 170 soldiers, is expected to be ready in Turkey in the beginning of February. The German parliament backed 14 December 2012 sending up to 400 German soldiers and a missile-defence system to Turkey to guard against possible attacks from Syria.
