MEXICO EXPLOSION

Firefighters try to extinguish a fire in some houses after the explosion of a truck loaded with liquefied gas near the city of Ecatepec, Mexico, 07 May 2013. According to the authorities the blast left at least 18 people dead and some 36 injured. The blast at about 5:30 am (1030 GMT) in Ecatepec,  a northern suburb of Mexico City, damaged 20 homes, four of them substantially, Salvador Neme, citizen security minister for the state of Mexico bordering the capital, told the radio station Formato 21. It also damaged 15 vehicles, he said.
