According to media reports, thousands of Yemeni protesters took to the streets to ask Hadi to remove former president Saleh’s relatives and loyalists from powerful military positions, a day after US President Barrack Obama signed an executive order giving the Treasury Department the authority to freeze any Yemeni official’s assets if found trying to hinder the implementation of a Gulf-brokered and US-backed power transfer deal in Yemen.
