MIDEAST ISRAEL PALESTINIAN
Palestinian activists fix flags on a tent in an “outpost” named Bab al-Shams (“Gate of the Sun”) that they set up between Jerusalem and the Jewish settlement of Maale Adumim in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, in an area where Israel has vowed to build new settler homes, on January 12, 2013. The Israeli occupation administration gave Palestinian activists an ultimatum to quit the protest camp in part of the West Bank, but hours after the deadline passed, there was no sign of any Israeli move to evict the protesters.
