“I don’t want to make you nervous, but … I cross the street, thank you very much,” Buildings Commissioner Patricia Lancaster told the Daily News as she prepared to launch a big, new building-safety campaign in the city. [dailynews]
This shows there are some legitimate honest people working in NYC. I hope we all remember this the next time there is a cry of unfair enforcement by buildings. The rules are there to help save livees and I, as someone living in NY enjoy enhanced safety in any building that complied with city code when built(this excludes the State built WTC)
I also needed her help when I was given some really not correct zoning violations. Ms Lancaster returned my calls, looked into it and had her subordinate appear in my place to explain that I was right and had things rectified. I am not in Real Estate and there was no payment of any kind.
I will cross the streets also.
