Romney says Obama can rightfully take credit for bin Laden’s downfall. But he says it was “very disappointing for the president to try to make this a political item” by suggesting he wouldn’t have ordered the raid, saying, “Of course I would have.”

Romney tells “CBS This Morning” Tuesday that he and Obama have plenty of issues to fight over without parting company on anti-terrorism strategy.

Without mentioning Romney’s name, Obama suggested the former Massachusetts governor had waffled on whether he would have taken out bin Laden.

Romney says, “I think trying to attack me on that basis is inappropriate and the wrong course.”

I think that Mr. Romney is wise but really needs a little intellectual enhancement. Perhaps his own conduct in the past is evidence that he is unfit to make any major decisions. A flip-flopper is not a man I want in office running the USA and wondering Should I or Should I not invade a nation that “is our friend” as he put it in the past. I am not entirely sure myself if Mr. Romney would have as he claims gone through with a commitment to get Osama Bin Laden if he was in Pakistan; at least not in the bold manner that Mr. Obama did this past year which was successful. I am not certain that Romney has a right to claim that Mr. Obama is politically posturing in neglect to his office, but I am certain that Mr. Romney needs to focus on what he can do better rather than on what he could have would have done if he was the president at that time.

These Republicans have some nerve asking President Obama to not even bring up the issue of the Osama Bin Laden raid, that HE personally gave the call to do! Of course it was a highlight of his Administration foreign policy wise! And it was the highlight of the century for all of us who grew up during, or who remember the 9\11 attacks & the years of war after!

In fact… this country hadn’t been unified in the way that it was when OBL was killed, since the monster sent his minions to attack us 10 years ago! Do we need MORE tragedies to help bring us together, or can we all learn to be adults one of these days, and do the unifying withOUT the fear, war or angry politics?!

It’s a joke for the Republicans to tell President Obama NOT to talk about the raid! George W Bush ran his ENTIRE 2nd campaign on the politics of fear! “Be fearful if you don’t vote for me, because who KNOWS what could happen if a decorated war veteran like John Kerry takes office!” (eyeroll)

Republicans have been the MASTERS as portraying Democrats as weak individuals, who would cower or APPEASE terrorists. But the FACTS of the matter… don’t match the rhetoric anymore! Nobody’s buying that story now.

Mitt criticized obama in 08 for saying that he would order attacks in pakistan to kill terrorists…
Now obama ordered such a attack that killed the terrorist most wanted by this country he would do the same…
    What a phony…

    Mitt is right.
Obama cannot use Bin Laden to attack Romney because Romney was not the president at the time.
If anything, the Bin Laden raid is credit to Bush Administration. If I recall correctly, that is the same party as Mitt.

With all due respect to Sherry and others – the issue is not whether obama deserves the credit – of course he gave the final order.

And obama does of course have the right to use that as a campaign issue. That is not a question.

The issue is – does obama have the right to say Romney wouldn’t have ordered the attack? That’s just politicking and it is not fair for the dems to say he would not have.

Of course he would have! He was there in the target, why wouldn’t he jump on the opportunity to run in and take care of business!
