“I’m shocked at her apathy toward Israel and her voting record,” Dilan said of his opponent, whom he is giving her first significant challenge in decades. “I’m shocked that a member of the New York delegation takes these types of positions. It’s obviously something that we will have in contrast.”

Specifically Dilan was referring to Velazquez’s refusal to sign the 2010 Jackson-Pence letter urging Pres. Obama to place “crippling” sanctions on Iran – a major foe of Israel – because of its nuclear ambitions, her refusal last year to sign a letter encouraging sanctions against Syria and her abstention of a vote to condemn the Goldstone Report, which was widely viewed as anti-Israel.

She also voted against the 2006 Palestinian anti-Terrorism Act which urged members of the international community to refrain from financially supporting Hamas or the Hamas-controlled Palestinian Authority until the terrorist organization agrees to recognize Israel.

Dilan called her record on Israel “apathetic at best” and said it is a concern to many Jews in the district.

Velazquez’s spokesman, George Arzt, called her “a proud supporter of Israel throughout her career in Congress” and said Dilan “never said a word – not one word – about Israel until political ambition kissed him on the lips.”

Who cares? Is she representing Brooklyn or Israel? Is she doing her job well? If yes, who cares what she thinks of a foreign country. If not, same thing.

No, she represents Brooklyn residents (many of us happen to be Jewish) in votes that affect international issues. Her record on these issues affect us and are very definitely our concern.

Thats right, we are jews in we are in exile we have to do whats good for our country not for the Zionist politics.
Its even a shame to use this tactic against her.

I know Rep. Nydia Velazquez for many years she is a very special and hard working person representing all the people all race in & out of her district for the last 20 some years; different from any local politicians they need just your vote before the elections! She promise and delivers… Do some homework you will be so surprise what fine person she is, it happens to me she is in Washington DC charlady at the business committee. We at the williamsburg community don’t have any real politician to represent us and serve our needs like boro park, Flatbush etc. all I can say we are looking forward to work with her for the better for at Jewish community and having a fine congressperson representing us in Washington DC.

Let the entire dhimmicrat party circus go on its way, and let regular, normal Americans, including those of us who are Jewish, go our way.

    Vote dhimmicrat? Just say NO!

Ah yes, our lovely satmar friends and their lemming-like anti-Zionist comments…

Please, Hashem, you have planted the seeds of genius in our people, who have in the past included Sabin and Salk, whose research helped eradicate polio. Please, Hashem, give us another genius who will find a cure for satmar disease (and while
You are at it, please also let them find a cure for the Naturei Karta-oids as well).

Didn’t she fight for R’ Aron’s side now by the camp issue? If so, she is of course not an anti-semit
