The city is to unveil www.nyc.gov/greenbook on Friday.
The directory was last published in 2008. It’s a listing of city, county and state agencies. It describes their functions and includes names of agency heads and phone numbers.
According to The New York Times, the website’s cover features Birdie NYC, the city’s official mascot for environmental initiatives. It’s holding up a fluorescent light bulb and wearing a Statue of Liberty crown. The directory will be updated at least four times a year.
In an introduction, Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the directory is the latest example of the city’s “commitment to provide the most responsive, most sustainable and most forward-thinking government possible.”
It should list each and every ones salary and the precise reason why he or she is getting that much money and exactly what they have accomplished on that job in the past year or years, how many years they have been doing whatever they are supposed to be doing and all of their successes and failures.
There will be no need to raise taxes if we can cut the budget by eliminating pure waste which accounts for at least 50% of all government budgets.
The salaries are public information anyways. There are various sites you can search online to see them. Additionally, most of the press releases announcing the hiring of high level employees typically include the salary.
