Rockland County, NY – Additional Plaintiffs & Defendants Named in East Ramapo School District Lawsuit

    27

Rockland County, NY – The plaintiffs waging a lawsuit in the East Ramapo School District have intensified their efforts to remove Orthodox Jewish school board members, the attorney for the board, and the school superintendent owing to an alleged “blatant misuse of public funds” as reported here on VIN (http://bit.ly/QH6GRT) back in July.

Newsday is now reporting (http://bit.ly/MhoO1R) that an additional 170 parents and community residents have added their names as plaintiffs, and that the lawsuit now names 13 defendants up from the original five. The suit will be filed this morning as a civil rights action case in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Among the many accusations lodged against the defendants, the suit claims that the plaintiffs’ state and federal constitutional rights were violated by the defendants when white students were separated into private schools, while funding for the mostly Hispanic and black students who attend public schools was reduced.

The plaintiffs are seeking reimbursement of the district’s funds and punitive damages in the amount of $10 million, plus the cost of attorney’s fees and expenses.

The hatred behind this is a misunderstanding that Parents and also childless can run. It is nobody’s business if you have kids and where they go or went to school. If you are a citizen and not a felon you can run.
Then again, maybe I am wrong, maybe it is just hate and not a misunderstanding.

The fact buses were brought from brooklyn is a farce. Books that are missing is it proven these people remember there is another side what about the fact that east ramapo only has 8,500 in public school and over 19,000 in private and they are the ones paying the taxes. These are anti semites that want the jews money. They are upset about the sale of some public schools that went for bids no one else was there to buy it so yes the jews got them.

Preserve Ramapo strikes again. This law suit will be tossed, no doubt about it, but not before it wastes thousands of tax payer dollars. This is the equivalent of 175 people suing to get the Mayor, and the entire city council removed. It will never happen.

This has nothing to do with the elections for school board. This action is because the Board is not acting in the best interest of all the students. The Board is supposed to be fair, not favoring one group over another.

These Jew Haters just want us to pay unreasonably high taxes to cater to the few children left in public schools up here in Monsey. Preserve Ramapo is a bunch of anti-semites and their jewish self-haters. I recommend the same thing I recommended in my essay regarding the colonization of the Congo. (for all of you who were lucky enough to read it)

I live here- they check my signature in the book every time I vote. I have no idea where the “busloads from Brooklyn” farce comes from. There were “busloads” of people who may have been born in Brooklyn, but if they live here, they vote here. I pay more money in PS taxes than for tuition, and trust me, tuition is high enough here, and the yeshiva teachers make a lot less than public school teachers.

the problem with the books are not that they where bought from a monsey store, but what books they purchased. the books purchased where religious in nature. look at the titles,.

the building where sold way below market without competitive bidding again a non no . for those who claim the complainants are mad the building went to the Jews are wrong. They are mad that the buildings where sold way below marker and with the right procedures and that is why the court blocked the sale.

as far as busing I have no idea but it was tries in the Catskill so it is not that far fetched. people registered in two places to be able to vote.

It does not help that some former frum board members where convicted of fraud.

why is it so hard for some frum people to do thing the correct way why always schtick to get over people.

Good it is going to court.

If they did nothing wrong the complainants will be exposed as antisemitic.

If they did fraud let them be exposed and arrested and hopefully the frum community will say good riddance to them instead of rallying around them

To inform the Public: Most of the East Ramapo Public School Parents are NOT TAXPAYERS, They reside in rental units. A few families live together in one apt. We homeowners & School Tax payers fund their childrens education, & they still want to ban us from the County!
If they suceed the Crime Rate will escalate, & the retired Teachers will continue to get the Hugh increases to their checks, Since they were employed when the school district had a larger population. Also please note: The school Buildings that are for sale, were vacated due to not having enough students to fill classes, Yet the District continued to snow plow empty parking lots after bldgs. were vacated. Staff that were not re-hired was due to not enough for them to do in the schools because of less student body. I have resided in Monsey since 1959, & have wittnessed this to be true.
