New York – New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman (SHNEYE’-dur-muhn) is slamming Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver for a sex harassment settlement that one of Schneiderman’s employees had a role in drafting.

Schneiderman says the secret settlement involving an assemblyman was wholly inappropriate and contrary to the public interest.
E-mails released Thursday night, however, appear to show a larger role for one of Schneiderman’s attorneys than the attorney general’s office had previously described.
The records show Silver’s counsel worked through three drafts of the settlement with staff from the attorney general’s office and comptroller’s office.
But the records don’t indicate the attorney was involved in negotiations.
In New York City Friday, a prosecutor says he wants a special district attorney to investigate claims of sexual harassment claims against Democratic Assemblyman Vito Lopez of Brooklyn.
