“The Secretary-General is extremely concerned about the continued violence in Gaza and Israel, and deeply worried by the rising cost in terms of civilian lives,” U.N. spokesman Martin Nesirky said. “Rocket attacks are unacceptable and must stop at once. Israel must exercise maximum restraint.”
Nesirky added that Ban “plans to visit the region shortly.” U.N. diplomats have said that Ban will visit Israel and Egypt next week.
Why didn’t he speak up about the Hamas rocket fire prior to this opertation?
Where were you when they were shelling Israeli towns and villages?
ISRAEL should exercise restraint?
Perhaps some arabs should drop bombs on his house, and we’ll see his restraint.
What sheer chutzpa.
I second his call and ask for both sides to reinstate quiet to the region.
Shut up, ban ki moon. Why is Israel defending itself considered escalation but 900 rockets in 2012 before this not considered escalation?
