Hospital officials said that one person was seriously injured, another moderately and the remainder were in light condition.

The Palestinian terrorist group Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade claimed responsibility, according to Palestinian media reports.

The attack came as diplomats, including U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, shuttled around the region to try to broker a cease fire following a weeklong Israeli offensive against Palestinian militants in Gaza that has killed more than 130 Palestinians. Militant rocket fire into Israel has killed five Israelis.

The bus exploded about noon on one of the coastal city’s busiest arteries, near the Tel Aviv museum and across from an entrance to Israel’s national defense headquarters.

The bus was charred and blackened, its side windows blown out and its glass scattered on the asphalt. The wounded were evacuated and blood was splattered on the sidewalk.

An Israeli driver who witnessed the explosion told Army Radio the bus was “completely charred inside.” Another witness said there were few passengers on the bus when it exploded. The witnesses spoke to Israeli TV and were not identified.

More than 1,000 Israelis were killed during the violent Palestinian uprising in the last decade in bombings and shooting attacks. More than 5,000 Palestinians were killed as well.

The last bombing in Tel Aviv was in April 2006, when a Palestinian suicide bomber killed 11 people at a sandwich stand near the city’s old central bus station. A bomb left at a bus stand in Jerusalem last year killed one person.

In Gaza, the Tel Aviv bombing was praised from mosque loudspeakers, while Hamas’ television interviewed people praising the attack as a return of militants’ trademark tactics.

What’s the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over & over again & expecting a different outcome. Time to stop talking. Action, not words. Never trust Hillary, she is an anti-semite of the first order (I know this from someone who worked for her when she was First Lady.) Israel needs to stop believing there can be peace, there will never be unless we decimate them. History has proved that.

Israelies have put too much reliance on the Iron Dome system apparently forgetting of terrorists old tactics of simply blowing up buses.

Time to change tactics: for every bomb, take the suicides entire block down.

“More than 1,000 Israelis were killed during the violent Palestinian uprising in the last decade in bombings and shooting attacks. More than 5,000 Palestinians were killed as well.”

What does this paragraph mean? Do you mean to imply that 5000 Palestinians were killed “during the violent Palestinian uprising in the last decade in bombings and shooting attacks? Can you please clarify and correct this sentence?

When they say injured its not a joke! I love the way people always go ok thank goodness non one died and there r only injured! Are by kidding me? My cousins husband was “only injured” on that #2 bus bombing a few years ago… Well he succumbed to his “slight shrapnel wounds” 2 weeks later! But at that point he wasn’t the only of the “just injured” to die! It’s very scary! When they say injured it means really really bad shape!

It’s pretty sad and upsetting, that after about a week or so of pounding Gaza, by the IAF, Hamas is still able to fire salvos of missiles indescriminately at Israel and as far as Tel-Aviv, nonetheless. Does Israel have a plan, don’t think there is one!

It’s a shame that Israel doesn’t fight wars like it used to. Instead of destroying strategic targets like power plants, ports, etc., they only aim at tactical targets like individual terrorists, individual rocket launchers, etc.

Hamas hailed the explosion, saying it “blessed the attack” and handed out celebratory sweet cakes in Gaza’s main hospital.

“You opened the gates of hell on yourselves,” Hamas’s armed wing, the al-Qassam brigades wrote in a message posted on Twitter. “Oh Zionists, you have to drag yourselves out of hell, go back home now, go back to Germany, Poland, Russia, America and anywhere else.”
