WABCTV reports (http://bit.ly/XwaK43) that seven-year-old Sury Paskus and her two-year-old brother Ben sustained life-threatening injuries and were rushed to the hospital following the incident.

Aron Weichbord, who was one car behind the Honda Accord, said he saw the accident and pulled over to assist when an unknown Good Samaritan appeared and lifted the car off of the children using a jack. “The kids were not breathing. . .the guy came, stabilized the car. I was with the kids, they lifted the car, the kids started breathing again,” Weichbrod said.

Now the Lakewood community is searching for the unidentified hero. “And so I say, come out, come out wherever you are, ‘cause we want to honor you,” said Lakewood Mayor Albert Akerman.

Thanks to the efforts of Weichbrod, the responding EMT, and the mystery man, Sury and Ben are in critical but stable condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Nebech to all who don’t learn Gemara. You would find that he usually appeared to the amoraim dressed as a goy. Hahu taya, that Arab merchant.

“GOOD SAMARITAN” IS an expression from the NEW TESTAMENT! It is time that we stop using that expression. In cases of non-Jews acting wonderfully, perhaps “Gentile chasid” would be appropriate copying the Talmud’s statement that :”chasidei umos haolam have a chelek in olam haba”

What good is a mitzvah if it is only done to pat oneself on the back? Then it is no longer a mitzvah, it becomes gloating.
