The Assembly Budget Committee is scheduled to discuss the measure Monday. If approved, it would take effect beginning in the fall semester.
To be eligible, a student must have attended a New Jersey high school for at least three years, have a diploma from a state high school or the equivalent. They also must submit an affidavit stating they have filed or will file an application to legalize their status as soon as they are eligible.
The bill’s sponsor says it provides people with an opportunity for an affordable education so they “become tax payers and not tax takers.”
The ONLY thing to give the ILLEGAL aliens is the door. Show them the door so they get OUT of our country!
If they pay state taxes, they deserve state services.
We’ve officially lost our minds to even consider this. Its all down hill from here.
I wonder if they will have in the budget billboards near the border directing more illegals to NJ?
“they are humans, they have rights, they deserve the same freedom like every other U.S. citizens, its not their fault they were born in another country”……..that it was a demented liberal democrat would say about this situation
years ago people did not just ”get” financial assistance. they had to EARN it with good marks and good behavior. this should be the case now as well.
there can be endowment funds specifically for certain groups as well.
If they pay the taxes, they should get the services. We educate young people to make them better people, happier, richer and more productive. If we do not educate young people, they become unhappy, poorer and less productive. Obviously, it is better for society, and for you and me individually, if young people get a good public education.
