The MDA Medics who were called to the scene were surrounded by residents of the religious town, who tried to prevent them from entering the apartment.
Once they were inside, the parents refused to allow the infant to be treated, and even refused to accept painkillers for the child.

The MDA team called police for back up, and with the assistance of the officers removed the infant from the apartment.

The child's mother was eventually convinced to accompany her son to Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer. [haaretz]

Depends on the % of the burn. Don’t comment if you don’t know the whole situation.

I am an american curently in Eretz yisroel, so im getting a taste of both worlds. Fact: The police hate the Chareidim. The fact that the parents prevented MDA from entering and refusing treatment is 100% wrong and is a danger to the child and it could not be tolerated. BUT… I can see why the parents were uncooperative. Chances are the child would have been taken away if he/she was brought to the hospital, and guranteed the parents would have been arrested pending an investigation, and they would have been put through hell. I could almost Gurantee that the parents would have brought the child to a Frum doctor right after MDA left the location.

Yup, that is the way things work under a gov’t that does not have a constitution or a bill of rights.

Maybe if the ‘frum’ political parties made human rights and justice priorities instead of how many buildings they can get the gov’t to build and how many bench-warmers the gov’t will support. (This is NOT a rant against kollel yungerliet who learn a whole day.)

Lets assume the parents or one parent is plain meshuga. Why do neighbors budd in and think they are doing the right thing? The truth is you can have the most frum and ehrlich seeming neighbors but you really don’t know them. I can vouch for myself and now, after many years, for my wife but never for a friend or neighbor!

Don’t trust the doctors? And the EMT on the scene is also no good?

    Stupid parents and potential murderers.

I suggest pouring 400 degree water on these dumb *** parents and not call an ambulance for them.

    Eye for an eye………

Jerry Springer should have these two idiots on his next show!

Its very easy to accuse if you don’t know the facts.
If this happens in the USA no one would refuse help to treat a baby from such a trauma, but in E.Y. you don’t trust the doctors and more so their hospitals!

Why can’t neighbors mind their own business?? It makes me so mad to see these things happen. Children are not property, they are gifts from Hashem and parents are entrusted to care for them. I always say if people can’t handle so many kids. DONT HAVE THEM!!!!

The MDA did the right thing by calling the cops. Uncooperative parents and a child with second degree scalding burns is more suggestive of child abuse than it is of an accident. There’s more to the story here, though- why would their neighbors also try to keep the child from being treated? I would be interested if finding out what is really going on.
