The WASHINGTON TIMES (http://bit.ly/1a6FuVO) reports that a contingency of 13 Republicans and 7 Democrats have written Secretary of State John Kerry, urging him to “vigorously engage” the Romanian government to honor a 2005 resolution demanding that it return stolen properties to rightful owners.
Over 4,000 religious churches, schools, hospitals, orphanages, and other various properties were confiscated by the communist government.
A statement released by the Romanian Embassy said Romania remains “committed” to resolving the matter.
