Meanwhile, the Jewish Federation of Greater Wilkes-Barre said it is offering a $5,000reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person behind the anti-Semitic vandalism at the Congregation Ohav Zedek building.
On Monday, area Jewish leaders met to plan their response to the hate crime, while the city and its police force vowed to conduct an aggressive investigation.
“I am outraged and disappointed by this hateful, offensive act. Incidents such as this will not be tolerated in our community,” Wilkes-Barre Mayor Tom Leighton said.
