Police officers patrolling the park noticed the child wandering alone. From their conversation with the boy, they concluded that his parents apparently left him behind by mistake.
Police bought the child sweets and refreshments while trying to locate his parents.

The boy’s parents, both in their thirties, had set out for a family trip to Hayarden Park with their five children.
Once the couple noticed their son was missing, they contacted the park’s administrative offices, which told them their son was safe and in police custody.

The parents were summoned to appear at the police station in the Golan Heights town of Katzrin. An investigation is underway to determine whether the couple should be charged with negligence.

Last month, Staff at Ben Gurion Airport found a four-year-old girl alone in a duty-free shop after her parents accidentally took a plane without her.

The parents boarded the flight to Paris with four of their five children, as was reported here on Vos Iz Neias.

I don’t wish this problem on anyone – but unfortunately it does happen, a child is not on the mind of the parent 24/7. ask yourself do you think about going to bathroom all day or paying bills all day – the answer is No!

Its easy to judge people badly, but this believe it or not can happen to you to.

B’H in these cases nothing bad happened to the children

What do you mean “again”? It’s not the same parents! Israel’s a big country, and this sort of thing is bound to happen, every so often. In America it happens even more often, because it’s a bigger country, but it doesn’t make the headlines. Ask the police how often it happens, and they’ll tell you. Or ask around among your friends and acquaintances, and see how many have once left a kid behind somewhere – you may be surprised.

Scary: Sounds like something in the air in Israel.

I find it hard to understand how this can happen, I B”H have quite afew kids. When you travel or leave from one place to another, thats when you SHOULD COUNT YOUR KIDS, BY NAME AND LOOK FOR EACH ONE. Wheather your walking or going by car or bus, thats when YOU SHOULD LOOK AND COUNT YOUR KIDS…. DONT EXPECT THEM TO FOLLOW YOU. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE ONE KID WHO IS ADVENTEROUS AND WONDER AWAY OR WILL BE BUSY LOOKING SOMEWHERE ESLE, YES THAT HAPPENS OFTEN.

Its pretty scary to arrive somewhere and one kid is missing.

Another thing: Not one of the other kids noticed there missing sibling??????????????????

How in the world can a parent forget their child?? Parents have an achreius they must live up to. We see these things don’t happen very often, but the couple of times we heard of such incidents absolutely more than enough. It is the easygoing style of todays young parents raising kids.

How can Leibel blame todays young parents?? Would we rather have our children beaten and spanked like in the “good old days?” Or maybe having parents in their kids noses….The easygoing manner through which parents raise their kids today is the most reasonable in the world that we live in.

Obviously this is not a good thing, but it does happen.

I happen to know of a case where the parents were talking to the children in the car, and even specifically singled out one child, and were a bit surprised when there was no response. When they turned around to see why the child did not respond, they realized the child was not even in the car, after which they contacted the place immediately, the child was fine, B”H, and the child came home safe and sound.

I’m not trying to assert that such stories always end so well, or that parents shouldn’t be careful to constantly be viligent and check up on their children, but we should not be so quick to slash

    out against the parents.

These things happen every day at theme parks everywhere.

Its easier for this to happen in Israel where children are given greater independence and responsibility at very young ages – and where its common to leave a kid “home alone”.

I believe the parents just made a mistake (a terrible mistake but still, a mistake).

Boruch Hashem it happened in Israel. I am sure those parents will be extremely careful in the future, maybe even more careful than other parents.

When we were in the midbar, we forgot HASHEM!!!
