Hundreds gathered to pay their respects to Eyal Baum of Hod Hasharon, who was 39 when he died.

Authorities investigating the crash believe co-pilot Andreas Lubitz purposefully crashed the plane en route from Barcelona to Dusseldorf. The victims had 19 different nationalities, including 16 high-school students from a single German village who were returning from a school exchange program.

Returning the remains of the victims was complicated by the remote location of the crash and the fact that the plane hit the mountains at such a high speed, complicating the collection process.
