The network said Monday that Sunday’s debate was watched by more than 12.5 million viewers, including 10.2 million who watched it live on NBC.
NBC says Sunday’s debate drew more young viewers than the two previous broadcast debates.
Nearly 1.2 million viewers streamed the event live online, NBC says.
The Democratic National Committee-sanctioned event, hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus Institute, took place at the Gaillard Center in Charleston, South Carolina.
Democratic front-runners Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley faced off in the debate — the last before voters in Iowa head to the polls for the leadoff caucus.
As an Australian I am rooting for Bernie Sanders over Hilary Clinton.
1. Universal Health care. The US is the only major country without universal healthcare. 42,000 people die each year in the US because they don’t have health care insurance and countless more go bankrupt even if they have insurance with all the deductibles and co-payments. You will not find any Australian, wishing they had a health care system like the US.
2. Corrupt campaign finance system. At the moment billionaires have too much power in elections with their super-pacs that can spend unlimited amount of money. Bernie does not take any money from corporation.
3. Hillary top donors are the banks and health insurance companies. She is bought by big money. She will not fight for the average Joe. She will fight for her donors interests.
4. The media have been ignoring Bernie since he announced he is running. He is now poised to win Iowa, New Hampshire and probably in Nevada. They have underestimated Bernie. I believe one he wins the first 2 states Bernie’s chance of being the Democratic nominee is more than 50%.
5. Hillary is not a friend to Israel. She is 2 faced and has strong ties with anti-Israel activists.
