Protesters, as well as some politicians on the right, criticized Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, who has said the soldier acted inappropriately.

The IDF Military Court in Kastina on Tuesday granted a two-day extension of detention, rejecting the prosecution’s request for nine days.

The soldier’s defense lawyers declared the move a sign that Lt.-Col. Judge Ronen Shor does not view the evidence in the case as obviously one-sided. On the other hand, the ruling could indicate that Shor believes the prosecution does not need further time to investigate the incident that occurred on Thursday in Hebron and has plenty of evidence already against the soldier.

Israelis are split over the incident, which came amid six months of near-daily Palestinian attacks.

Many argue the young soldier fired because he suspected the Palestinian, who had stabbed a soldier before being shot and wounded, may have been reaching for an explosive device.

Others say the Palestinian, who was lying on the ground, was no longer a threat, and that the shooting breached army norms and damaged its image.

Emad works for the Israeli human rights organization B'tselem (Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories) and took the video of an Israeli soldier shooting and killing an injured and neutralized Palestinian assailant on 24 March. The Israeli government issued an order to investigate the shooting of Abed al Fatah-Sharif and Emad started to receive death and house burning threats from Israeli settlers who live close to his house. Emad reaches his house through other Palestinian houses to avoid crossing Israeli checkpoint as he fears Israeli threats since. EPA

Let the children of the self appointed Israeli Aryan ‘Justice ‘ system, serve in the army, and tell the Palestinians how much they are concerned about their welfare and rights, just before they’ll get stabbed,
