Speaking Friday at Russia’s top economic forum, Putin said that Russia will work constructively with any candidate who wins the U.S. presidential election in the hope that the winner would strive for developing relations with Russia and building a safer world.

Asked about his previous praise for Trump, Putin said that his description of Trump as a “bright” man stands. He added that he has noted Trump’s statement that he’s ready to establish a full-fledged dialogue with Russia.

“I have said he is flamboyant,” Putin told the St Petersburg International Economic Forum. “He is, isn’t he? I did not give any other assessment of him.”

He also said that based on Trump’s remarks, he favors restoring full U.S.-Russia relations.

“What’s wrong with that?” Putin asked.

Asked about his view of Hillary Clinton, Putin dodged direct comment, but spoke highly of Bill Clinton, saying he was grateful to him for his help.

Trump has his fan club. Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Uhn, David Duke and an assortment of other authortarians and bigots. Meanwhile every level headed Republican is running as far away from him as possible.

I see no reason in the world why we shouldn’t build a strong US/ Russia relationship? How is it in our interests to fight with Putin? What do we gain exactly? Do we need Ukraine for some reason? Who cares if the man invades Ukraine or not? If he were kiling or sending millions to Siberia then OK we have a moral obligation not to allow another genocide. But simply because we don’t agree with Putin’s dictatorship style we should bicker with him? Sounds silly to me.

To #1 - When Trump is elected President on Nov. 8, 2016, I’m going to recommend to his transition team, that they vet you for the position of “Provacateur-in Chief”. I believe that you are very highly qualified for that position.

Putin would love to finally have an adult in charge in the US. So would Israel and our other allies.
