Karina Vetrano’s mother told reporters on Sunday that her daughter’s killer must know the world is seeking justice.

“The whole world (will) know what a pathetic, puny, weak piece of filth you are,” Cathy Vetrano said outside the family’s Howard Beach home. “I guarantee you — you will pay forever.’

Karina Vetrano’s body was found late Tuesday night in a recreation area adjacent to her home. An autopsy showed she died from strangulation. Her clothes were in disarray, indicating a possible sexual assault.

Karina Vetrano’s father, Philip, a retired firefighter, discovered her body near a jogging trail, according to New York Police Department Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce.

“This woman put up a ferocious fight right to the end,” Boyce said.

Philip Vetrano said the family is counting on the hard work by the NYPD to eventually find the killer.

“Justice will be served,” he said.

A $10,000 reward was being offered for information leading to an arrest.

The news conference came a day after their daughter’s funeral.

Karina Vetrano worked for a caterer and as a speech pathologist.
