Jerusalem – Israel Launches New Spy Satellite

    The Defense Ministry made a brief announcement of the launch Tuesday and said more details will follow.

    An Israeli security official says the Ofek 11 is the country’s “most sophisticated spy satellite to date.” Another official says it can transmit high resolution images in color and relay images from nearly anywhere around the world.

    The two officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief media.

    not quite sure why the world has to know about something that should be kept a secret. sounds like a disclosure i would expect to hear from a country like Poland

    since we saw that rocket explode last week, from where did Israel launch this satellite?? inquiring minds want to know

    I wonder if these satellites can fire a quick burst of laser “bullet” that can kill people below…I wouldn’t be surprised if that is in place already. Light travels at a speed of 186,000 miles a second. They won’t hear the attack and won’t even see it.
