New York – A Manhattan billboard for fashion designer Kenneth Cole has often been used to make a statement. Its latest message is no exception.

The billboard, which is poised over the West 57th Street entrance to the West Side Highway, now says “In tough times, some land on their feet (others on the Hudson). – Kenneth Cole.”
It is a tribute to the skill of pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, who after US Airways flight 1549’s engines were disabled (likely by geese), guided his aircraft to a safe splash landing on the cold Hudson River. Everyone got out alive when the plane went down on Thursday, January 15, 2009.
It is also a tribute to the men and women who rescued the passengers and crew. On the bottom, it reads “Thank you to the pilots, crew, and N.Y.ers for all that you did, and all that you do.”
Great ad!
COOL & exciting !!! but we have to use our heads in order to land on our feet in order to be productive.
Are Kenneth Cole shoes waterproof?
In my humble opinion its stupid. You don’t joke about tragic events even if they have a good ending.
Clever
it is definitely in poor taste!!
As all his ads go, it definitely catches your eye.
A tragedy is a story about a character with a tragic flaw, a character trait that undoes all of his/her other traits. (Korach, MacBeth, are a few fameous ones.)
Clever ad with a great message.
