Washington – Chicken Fat Technology Pioneered by Hitler [yemach shemo]To Be Part Of Jet Fuel

    15

Washington – Chickens can’t fly very far. Butchickens — or the fatty parts left after processing —could be powering jet flights across the countryand around the world in the next few years.
Or maybe it’ll be algae, essentially pond scum, fueling them. Or jatropha, a smelly and poisonous subtropical plant with nicknames such as “black vomit nut” or “bellyache bush.” Or liquid fuel converted from coal or natural gas, using a technology pioneered by Adolph Hitler’s Nazi war machine.

Airlines, airplane and engine makers, the fledgling synthetic and biofuels industry, the U.S. government, environmentalists and even the big oil companies are working together to develop alternative fuels from these and other sources. Their goal: to replace a significant portion of the 19 billion gallons of kerosene that U.S. carriers burn in their planes each year and to do it by the end of the next decade. If they succeed, airlines will reduce their carbon footprint — and save big money that could possibly help hold down fares.

The U.S. Air Force also is pushing development. By next year, it wants all of its planes certified to operate on a 50/50 mix of conventional jet fuel, known as Jet A, and alternative fuel. Air Force generals don’t want their planes grounded by a geopolitical event that pushes oil prices through the stratosphere or stops the flow of foreign oil.

The alternative fuel industry only now is beginning to move beyond the research-and-development stage into commercialization. Yet, enough progress is being made that it’s safe to say it won’t be long before Air Force pilots and commercial travelers will be flying in planes powered, in part or entirely, by synthetic or biofuels.

“Their goal: to replace a significant portion of the 19 billion gallons of kerosene”

How much is a significant portion?

    My guess, less than 5%.

It sounds great, but yhis technology is just in the labs at the moment. It will be years until it will have any “significant” benefits to us all.

Coal to jet fuel conversion has existed since WW1 – however it is expensive using a lot of energy per gallon.
Obama wants to eliminate all coal usage – how does this match with his new energy dept and environmental dept??

The so called “schmaltzfuel” has been around for a long time…the biggest problem is the tendency for the fuel to become to thick and lack viscosity at very low temperatures, just like most vegetable based oils in the refrigerator. This has been a problem in bio-diesel fuels used in many parts of the world.

And the first rockets were Nazi inventions as well. Nazi’s also employed the first airplane jet engine. And Hitler’s volts wagon “beetle” car was the world’s most produced car ever.

And I’m sure there are many more inventions pioneered by the Nazis.

    But so what?

Why is that relevant to the discussion of alternative fuels?

Personally, I believe the plug-in hybrid* car (eg the Chevy volt) is the way off Arab oil.

*Plug-in hybrid: a car that can run on BOTH electricity or on gasoline. The gasoline engine is only as a “back up” engine for long trips over the battery range. And since electricity is about 4 times cheaper than gasoline and is DOMESTIC most people would use electricity for their daily commute.

I doubt if it will work out in the long run, but if it does, great.

BUT… this opens the door to:

What if they use grease collected from diners and treif restaurants? Those grills are always doing cheeseburgers.

So, that fat is Basar B’Chalav, which is ossure b’hanaah. This means that if cheeseburger fat is used as a fuel we would not be allowed to go on that plane.

Treif meat is fine. It is the basar b’chalav which is ossure b’hanaah.

Jut like the problem with most dog foods. Most dog foods are basar b’chalav and are ossur to feed a dog. That is why one must use a dog food with a hechsher, or one certified dairy free, or meat free. Most of those Lamb dog foods are ossur for us to use. Many are not aware that we can’t even feed it to a dog if it is basar b’chalav.

Mmmmm the smell of schmaltz wafting around while you fly! The airlines will have to carry double-sized meals due to rileing up the passengers appetites.
And everyone will be fighting to live adjacent to an airport
