Investigators said Thursday that someone spotted an instrument on eBay that was stolen from a relative in Roselle Park. The seller was a Lakewood business that had two other hot guitars but didn’t know they were stolen.

Police used surveillance video from the business to identify an undisclosed number of suspects. Roselle Park police Sgt. Manuel Jimenez says all are male juveniles from New Jersey.

The three guitars were stolen by five masked bandits who beat up two apartment residents before taking the guitars.

They are among several worth more than $11,000 stolen in Roselle Park, Summit and Montclair since November.

The ebay store in Lakewood happens to be a shomer Shabbos store-Emayzing Auctions located inside DB Electronics. The owner Yossi Tesler was fooled by 3 men into buying expensive guitars a week before, claiming they “bought them” at the flea market.
The detectives then saw one of the guitars on ebay and came down to the store and told the owner they were really stolen.

If three men approach you and tell you they bought something in a flea market and it is an amazing deal, run! Ask them why they don’t sell it themselves. Seriously, do you need me to tell you that there is something fishy when you are approached to buy something for way below cost by strangers?

I bought an item recently from DB on ebay. Call me a fool if you like, but I suspect that DB is involved in shill bidding or was involved in shill bidding. After I put in my bid, another bid magically appeared a few hours later. And it wasn’t a popular item. I checked the feedback and the bidder never even left feedback on the item he supposedly bought. Sounds suspicious. I later bid on another auction from db but waited till there were a few seconds left. Needless to say I won it as no one else bid.
(shill bidding is using fake bidders to push the price of an item up.)

Mr. Tesler is a very scrupulous and honest fellow. I have had many pleasant ebay selling experiences with him. I have sold small ticket close-out items that he managed to get me top dollar thru ebay.
