Keith Doyle was jailed for 18 months at Manchester Crown Court after preying on residents during a five-week crime spree.
He targeted families in Broughton Park – the biggest Jewish community in Britain outside London.
At Manchester Crown Court, Doyle, 25, of Dudley Street, Higher Broughton, Salford, pleaded guilty to burgling homes in Kersal Gardens, Roston Road and Okeover Road, and trying to steal from three other nearby addresses.
He also admitted taking a Jaguar car without consent.
An anti-social behaviour order imposed on conviction runs until 2012. As well as banning him from the area, it prohibits him from acting in a way that might cause harassment, alarm or distress to people anywhere in the city, and from entering any garden or yard without consent.
Coun David Lancaster, community safety spokesman, said: “We are determined to protect our communities from this type of persistent criminal behaviour.”
Police patrols have been stepped up in the past and mounted police have patrolled areas around synagogues.
Police have given advice on how Jewish families can ensure they do not become victims of burglary or car theft while they are away from their home during religious festivals.
as usual, a slap on the wrist and he’s free to continue.
Typical of the british criminal justic system ….. No justice !!!!
They’ll never change. Not the criminals, not the “justice” system, not any of them. Pathetic. Fellow Jews…LEAVE!!!
18 months is hardly a slap on the wrist. How much time do you think he should have got?
In the states it is not any better. Criminals get a slap on the wrist and are out on the streets in a very short time. So let’s not have the pot calling the kettle back
An 18 months sentence is more like 8 months at most its not even a slap on the wrist its a joke and an insult!!!
Stop knocking Britain – one of the best countries in the world to the Yidden.
This court order prevents him from entering a garden or yard without consent. What exactly does that mean? Can his buddies who don’t have court orders, enter gardens without consent? Isn’t trespassing a crime? Why does he need a court order to forbid him to trespass?
And number 7, I will just have to assume that you don’t live in Manchester or even in Britain, because your comment is almost laughable!
I lived in higher broughton for years crime is a problem not just in the jewish part. The police do their best to keep on top of it its not a bad area really 18 months mite do the lad a bit of good short shape shock. He is some one,s son at the end of the day. If he gets back out of jail and carry,s on with what he was up to he wont get 18 mounths the second time sentences only go up not down.
