Washington – Osama bin Laden is plotting an attack against the US and its allies from his secret base in Pakistan, a senior US official has warned.

Reuters news agency quoted an unnamed senior US official as giving the warning, but gave no further details.
The news came shortly after President Obama announced plans to send an extra 4,000 US troops to Afghanistan to fight the insurgency in the country.
Mr Obama is due to reveal more details of his new war strategy later today.
The new plan would focus on destroying safe havens in Afghanistan and neighbouring Pakistan where Bin Laden is believed to be hiding, said the source.
He added: “For the first time, we are approaching this problem as two countries – Afghanistan and Pakistan.
“But as one challenge and one theatre for our diplomacy and our reconstruction efforts to work in. We see this as an integrated problem.”
He said Mr Obama had briefed Afghan and Pakistani officials on the new strategy – but told them there would be “no blank checks” for aid.
The source also said the US plans to dispatch thousands more troops to Afghanistan by the autumn, and there would be no immediate timetable for their withdrawal.
He said the plan would be built around benchmarks that will allow Congress to check whether the extra deployment and increased aid is working.
The strategy would see the cost of US operations in Afghanistan rise from $2bn to $3bn a month.

the goverment shouldn’t just stand there, they should do something..for starters- they should start being stricter of who comes into the united states by boat and by plane…with all of the newest modern technology, why can’t they track down the warning…hey if we have caller ID, and track people down like this or what they have track phones, they do by police stations, why can’t they have such modern technology in washington…something tells me that washington knows something big about bin-laden yimach shmo…but as a yiddishe mommy, I have to say that we just have to keep davening and putting our complete emunah and bitachon in HaKodesh Baruch Hu, and let Him do the rest…

How about this: We take a few of those billions of dollars the war is costing, and we offer it to Osama Bin Laden to behave, and we let him come live in the US with a nice mansion and 72 alive virgins.
Does it make sense to worry our entire life about a “possible” attack?! My attitude is, if something happens we will take it from there, and if we die as a result, that’s fine too.
