Russia – Police say vandals have sprayed paint and drawn a swastika across a large painting of Vladimir Lenin on a mountainside in southern Russia. The stone image of Lenin has been defaced by unknown vandals.

“The rock portrait of Vladimir Lenin, which was well seen from the funicular, was completely destroyed. The mayor is now discussing the restoration of the Soviet leader’s image,” said a representative from the city’s culture administration.
The black and white portrait on the Mashuk Mountain in Pyatigorsk, which was completed in 1925, was covered by vandals in black paint. A swastika was also drawn on the forehead of Lenin.
Pyatigorsk police said today that the vandals also drew anti-Semitic and neo-Nazi graffiti next to the image.
The area has come to be known as Lenin Rocks, and a spa at the bottom of the mountain also carries the name.
The report of the vandalism comes a day after a bomb blew a large hole in a famous statue of Lenin in St. Petersburg. The 10-meter-high monument of Lenin was badly damaged by an explosive device, which created a massive hole at the base of the statue.
The fight between the two hated death cults is still raging. May them and their symbols all be destroyed.
