While husband Bernie Madoff traded in the Upper East Side digs for a lower Manhattan jail cell back in March, a judge effectively evicted Ruth Madoff from the $7 million apartment as part of a $170 billion forfeiture order handed down last week.

It’s bye-bye forever to the $35,000 Lavar Kerman Persian carpet and the $20,000 Chippendale-style tea table in his art-filled four-bedroom duplex on the upper East Side.

The living room features two plush couches, antique lamps and a valuable Impressionist painting.

The master bedroom was designed around Georgian antiques. It features a canopied bed, fireplace and a burlwood tall chest topped with Chinese porcelains dating back to the late 1700s.

The large kitchen is decked out with fine china and silver serving sets.

For Bernie Madoff, home now is a spartan cell in a maximum security wing of the Metropolitan Correctional Center, with a bunk bed and seatless metal toilet.

Sounds like a typical two family house in BP. Except for the paintings. Those would be of Rebbes.

It seems to make the commentators feel better about themselves to put down the Maddoff’s professionally designed pad. Get a life.

It is a shame that one “bad”Jew is singled out, and held as the stereo-type for all Jews..I know, for a fact, if this crook wasn’t Jewish, he wouldn’t have so much ink.

The porcelains belong to the Elie Wiesel Foundation, the bed to Hadassah, the couch to that lady who now cleans toilets to make a living after investing her life savings with Bernie the Ganef…these people have no conscience. My heart bleeds for them. NOT.
